Code of Conduct

The rules we can talk about.

Mao is a game of secrets. How we treat each other is not. These rules are not part of the game, so Rule Nº 2 does not apply.

  1. 1.

    Be kind.

    Confusion and mistakes are part of the game. Laughing with someone is welcome; laughing at them is not.

  2. 2.

    Respect everyone.

    No harassment, discrimination or intimidation of any kind, at the table or in our groups.

  3. 3.

    Respect boundaries.

    The game is a secret. People's limits are not a game. Stop when someone asks you to.

  4. 4.

    Welcome newcomers.

    Everyone was new once. Be patient with people who are still discovering the rules.

  5. 5.

    Look after the venue.

    We are guests in the places that host us. Leave them as you found them.

  6. 6.

    Speak up.

    If something makes you uncomfortable, tell an organizer at the gathering or message us on WhatsApp.

Organizers may ask anyone who breaks this code to leave a gathering or the group.
