We are a group of people who meet to play Mao. Nothing official, just a table that keeps getting bigger.
What we believe
Patience.
Nobody learns Mao in one night. We do not expect you to.
Silence.
We never explain the rules. Not out of cruelty: discovering them is the whole game.
Good humor.
You will lose. A lot. Laughing about it is mandatory. Or it might be a rule. Who knows.
Where Mao comes from
Nobody knows for sure. Some say it was born in university common rooms; others insist it is much older. Every table tells a different story.
